Psychedelic Industry UK (PsyIndUK) is the first and only membership organisation representing the UK’s psychedelics industry.
The psychedelic industry is expanding at a rapid pace. Psychedelic medicines, including psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, DMT, MDMA and ketamine, are becoming increasingly recognised as viable therapeutic alternatives for various mental and physical health conditions.
While the UK’s wellness space is expanding quickly with the public’s increasing use of natural wellbeing products.
PsyIndUK connects the UK’s wide spectrum of psychedelic sectors into one collective voice. By encouraging cross-industry knowledge sharing and collaboration, PsyIndUK works to steer the larger industry towards a sustainable, ethical, and unified future.
Our unified voice strengthens the industry's credibility and influence with policymakers, government, and other stakeholders.
Inspired by successful models like PsyCan (Canada), PAREA (Europe) and the Psychedelic Medicine Coalition (USA), PsyIndUK addresses the UK's unique challenges and aims to collaborate with these organisations fostering global cooperation and knowledge exchange in this field.

Meet the Team

Dr Rayyan Zafar
CO-FOUNDER, CHAIR
Rayyan Zafar recently completed his PhD at Imperial Colleges Centre for Psychedelic Research under the supervision of Prof David Nutt and is now conducting psychedelic clinical and brain imaging research as a postdoctoral fellow at the centre.
Rayyan also acts an adviser to several psychedelic biopharmaceutical companies and the psychedelic venture capital fund ITER investment.
He also conducts scientific and policy research as a research officer for drug science in the field of medical psychedelics and medical cannabis.

James Bunn
CO-FOUNDER, CEO
James has worked in the psychedelic industry for his entire career including the Beckley Foundation, Drug Science, Psilonautica, TheraPsil, PAREA and more.
He works in collaboration with advocacy groups, policy reformers and mental health professionals, to promote research into, and public education about, the medical value of psychedelic compounds.
Having witnessed obstacles in other jurisdictions like Canada, USA, and Europe, he's determined to ensure the UK avoids similar pitfalls.

Mike Morgan-Giles
CO-FOUNDER, ADVISOR
Mike is an experienced membership and third sector leader. He is CEO of the Cannabis Industry Council, a leading UK membership organisation for medical cannabis, hemp and CBD.
Mike has previously worked in senior communications, public affairs, and marketing roles for start-ups, trade associations, politicians, media outlets, charities, and research bodies.
He is also an elected local politician in South Oxfordshire.

Lucas McHugh
CO-FOUNDER
Lucas worked for over 20 years in the finance industry and now focuses on early stage funding and Business Development.
He is an experienced consultant/adviser in the Tech, Psychedelics for Medical and Wellness sectors and has helped raise capital and provide strategic advice for Psychedelic VC funds and companies.
He is working closely with a Peruvian Amazon based group intent on preservation of land and traditional practice with plant medicines.
